Wilsons popularity surpassed the US during 2014, when she landed a role as a character on Showtimes The Affair. In the show, she performed the role of Alison Lockhart who is a young woman who is troubled and comes with a dark past. Lockhart is a lover of the love of her life, Noah Solloway. Wilson as well as Mauratierney and Joshua Jackson won a Golden Globe for Best Actress for a Television Series-Drama in the year 2015. Wilson said in British Vogue, "I loved getting to portray the character that has both sides of the story." Noah views Alison with a confident sexually sexy and reckless way. Yet, Alison perceives herself in a completely distinct perspective. On the inside she's dowdy. She added "I consider that America is such a moralistic society and too critical. The way they conduct themselves on the show looks horrifying." Wilson was a part of the show until 2018 after a lot of fans' dismay, though she wasn't clear on the particulars. I did want to leave however I'm not permitted to reveal the reason why that during an interview on CBS This Morning interview in August, 2018. Wilson has now turned her attention to film. Wilson was a part of the thriller horror I Am the Pretty Thing Living in the Home, which premiered in 2016. She also portrayed the mysterious PT Stella as the Sci-Fi romance How to Talk to Girls a Parties. To add more of the genre of horror to her credits, she's scheduled to appear in the British adaptation to film to The Little Stranger a supernatural thriller based on a novel by author Sarah Waters. Wilson will also serve as in charge of the production.
